IEC's
Prototype Lab is located inside of our 10,000 square foot Technology Center
in Newark, New York. We support surface mount, through-hole and BGA technologies.
Utilizing highly capable equipment, a dedicated, cross-functional staff
that focuses only on quick-turn manufacturing, IEC's Prototype Lab can
meet or exceed your prototyping needs. Many types of jobs can be performed
the same or next day.
The
Prototype Lab's primary functions are rapid design validation, identifying
DFM enhancement and cost reduction opportunities and facilitating a smooth
transfer to production.
The
self-contained work-cell includes staff dedicated solely to prototype
business. This includes program management, purchasing, process engineering
and test engineering. Projects can be turned around in 5 days, from
receipt of material.
The
Prototype Lab's capabilities include:
- Board
size up to 14" X 18" standard (up to 18" X 20") capable
- BGA's
- collapsiible (plastic, metal, micro) and non-collapsible (ceramic)
- 0402's,
chip scale packages
- Design
for Manufacturability (DFM) analysis and yield prediction with every
prototype
- Flying
probe testing, automated optical inspection (AOI) and X-ray analysis
available
There is also direct
access to the Advanced Materials Technology Lab, and Design Engineering
which along with the Prototype Lab are housed inside IEC's Technology
Center.
The Technology Center
is also able to run slightly larger quick-turn or pilot build size runs,
that are more than a few piece prototype run, but still in pre-production
process.
